‍Stotfold, Hitchin / Hertfordshire, UK — Saunders Garage, a vehicle recovery and roadworks recovery operator based on the Bedfordshire/Hertfordshire border, has adopted HAAS Alert’s Safety Cloud® to help protect its teams working live at the roadside and within roadwork construction schemes.

The rollout is enabled through HAAS Alert’s integration with Apex Networks, a widely used recovery management platform in the UK. When a Saunders technician arrives at an incident and marks “on scene” within the Apex workflow, Safety Cloud automatically triggers real-time digital hazard alerts to nearby drivers through in-vehicle screens with certain marques and popular navigation apps such as Waze and Apple Maps. These critical road alerts have been proven in adopted agencies and road authorities in the United States to reduce distracted driving incidents and cause drivers to move over and slow down for work zones and recovery operators.

Saunders Garage provides recovery services for a broad mix of customers and operational environments, including challenging roadside and roadworks activity where secondary collisions remain a persistent risk.  By adding digital alerting to traditional physical measures (beacons, cones, signage, on-foot practices), Saunders is bringing an additional layer of situational awareness to approaching motorists — helping encourage earlier speed reduction and safer “move over” behaviour.
