Brussels, Belgium – 23 July, 2025 – Agentschap Wegen en Verkeer (AWV) has formally started a partnership with HAAS Alert, a company specialized in connected vehicle and vehicle-to-everything (V2X) safety technology. This makes HAAS Alert the first service provider to integrate with the Mobilidata platform that can bring this data not only to smartphones, but also directly to natively built-in software platforms of different car manufacturers. Through this collaboration, critical safety alerts from emergency response vehicles and crash absorbers will soon be delivered in real time to head units of various car manufacturers and to users of navigation platforms like Waze.

Mobilidata is a national program led by the Flemish Government and coordinated by AWV to modernize traffic management and road safety by facilitating intelligent data sharing across public and private stakeholders. With this integration, Safety Cloud® by HAAS Alert will consume real-time alerts from Mobilidata, enabling active emergency vehicles and crash attenuators to directly alert nearby and approaching drivers on Flemish roads.

“This collaboration aligns perfectly with AWV’s mission to leverage innovative technologies to make roads safer,” said Ben Helsen, director of the Innovation Lab at AWV. “Working with HAAS Alert helps us ensure that this vital information reaches more drivers where and when it matters most.” Until now this Mobilidata information was retrieved by service providers such as Be-Mobile and TripService, which on their turn deliver this data to smartphone apps such as Flitsmeister, Karta GPS, Sway and Waze. “By adding HAAS Alert to the Mobilidata ecosystem, we do not only enrich the amount of information flowing to Waze users, but we can also reach drivers through the standard built-in head-units of their car for the very first time. This is an important next step in our ambition to keep growing with the Mobilidata ecosystem, increasing its positive impact on road safety”, according to Helsen.
